Course Overview:

Learn to operate an elevating work platform at any height. The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence. Licencing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements that may apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced prior to applying this unit.

Completing an accredited yellow card course with us will ensure that you get proper EWP yellow card training relevant to your industry, helping you achieve the necessary skills to be an invaluable asset in your workplace. 

Course Content

  • Planning and preparing for operating elevating work platforms
  • Selecting and using the required plant, tools and equipment to perform work activity
  • Identifying site requirements for emergencies at heights
  • Stabilizing or positioning elevating work platform
  • Using manufacturer approved safety devices fitted to the machine
  • Moving the elevating work platform to and from work site
  • Inspecting work platform and identifying faults
  • Reviewing machine maintenance logbook records

 

Course Outcomes

This nationally recognised course covers theoretical and practical aspects of working using an EWP under 11m

On conclusion of training, students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment in RIIHAN301E – OPERATE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORM recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. 

Applicants will also receive an  I.D. photo style Trained Operator Yellow card for the type of EWP you have been trained to use.  

Course Prerequisites

  • Participants must be over 18 years of age;
  • Must have GOOD English skills (be able to read, write, speak and understand technical concepts in English);
  • Be able to understand mathematical equations; and
  • Provide 100 points of Identification as per SafeWork NSW requirements. If a participant fails to bring 100 points of identification a re-booking fee of will be charged for assessment to be re-scheduled.

Training Location
To fulfill the in-person training requirements which require both practical demonstration and a written component, HRTA NSW has a purpose-built training ground in Ingleburn. This site offers all of the necessary venue requirements along with our qualified trainers and assessors.

Course Certification
On completion of the course, payment of fees, and when all requirements have been met, you will receive a Statement of Attainment issued by your registered training organisation.

Course Duration
This course can be completed in just one day – consisting of training and assessment

Please note: Any elevated work platform over 11m will require a WP HRW licence. These HRW licences are not provided in this Yellow Card course, however, we would be happy to book you in the appropriate HRW course. Please ask us for more information.
